1963 – 2017
David James Barber, age 54, passed away gracefully from this earth on Friday, December 1, 2017 in Dallas, Texas, after a spirited and generosity-filled life.
David joined the financial services industry in 1986. After graduating from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Finance, David went to work as a Credit Analyst for Park Central Bank of Dallas. In 1991, David accepted a Financial Advisor position at Merrill Lynch in Dallas and was given the opportunity to complete the 2 year Professional Development Program.
David returned to his hometown of Lubbock, Texas in 1994 and continued to work as an advisor. In 1997, he accepted a position with City Bank of Lubbock advising clients and managing the brokerage division for the bank until early 2012.
And in February of 2012, with a philosophy of “Simplicity, Clarity, and Confidence”, West Texas Investments was formed and today, still remains well-recognized by the community.
David touched thousands of lives, enhancing clients ability to achieve lifelong goals. He was passionate about his work as a Financial Advisor, and was beloved by his clients. He had a big heart and was always wlling to take time to listen to clients, friends, and colleagues to offer a helping hand.
David was also a devoted husband and father, survived by his wife, Stacey, their two sons, Brandon and Travis, and two rescue dogs (Sheila and Huck).
